‘Normal’ Gay?

Allen and I just watched a move, Make The Yuletide Gay. It was kind of cute, but man, the script was just awful. Outside of that though, there was plenty of stereotypical ‘gayness’ to span the world three times. I immediately recalled a post I read earlier, about how Sir Ian McKellen discussed that the representation of gays in the media isn’t always helpful. This movie would be a prime example of that. But, it also got me to thinking, how my life isn’t even remotely ‘normal’ to the way most gays are portrayed on the screen. More >

If You Could Pretend Hard Enough…

Would that make you ’straight’ in “God’s” eyes? That’s a question I asked myself yesterday for an April Fool’s joke for my guild. I claimed I had turned straight. LOL. Obviously, most people caught-on to the fact it was all a joke because if there’s anyone where it would be almost impossible to turn straight, it would be me. Never the less, I asked the question all the same: For those people that seek ‘therapy’ and ‘corrective’ measures to somehow turn them straight… how does God actually see that? More >

Don’t Panic Over Rick Warren

One of today’s ‘hot’ headlines is that Rick Warren was chosen by Obama for the invocation. Yeah, the guy certainly doesn’t have a historyof supporting gay rights, but I’ve come to expect that from many of these ‘elite’ churchies. For what it’s worth, he has worked to improve other areas such as human rights, poverty, and AIDS.  The guy doesn’t imediately sound like a total nut-job like some others instantly do the moment you look at their background. Ricky Martin Has Twins???

OK, HERE’San article that raised an eyebrow for me… Ricky Martin now has twins. Though, through a surrogate mother. Huh?! You mean to tell me, the man who swears up and down he’s not gay (though my Gaydar™ says otherwise), couldn’t find a girlfriend/wife to father him some crotchfruit? He had to get a surrogate mother???!!! <_< Well, I guess kudos to him though. Somehow, I have a feeling he’d make for one hell of a father!

I’ll Pass On Calling-In Gay

(Inspired-From CBS News)

I understand the concept: to show America just how much it relies on a workforce full of GLBT peoples. Unfortunately, in this time, I don’t really think it will do much good. For my employer especially, they really do count on me being here. Taking a ‘gay’ day off would be devastating because our workforce is already stretch far too thin as it is.

Inevitably, the topic will come up with the few coworkers where I’m transparent about who I am. How will I answer them? Well, of course I’ll state the above. Though, truth be told, I think there are much better ways to prove a point than to be detrimental to your job. Keep talking about what’s important to you, and keep telling people about how you feel, in my book, is much more important. I strongly feel my coworkers understand and accept that I should have certain rights. One person at a time is how I think we should work, not some gimmick that gets media attention.

School Sucked For Me

(It’s funny how a simple email from your mom can open the floodgate to memories…)

School sucked for me. I hated it. For the first-half I was good at math and bad at English. I then flip-flopped the other way when I got to middle school. It always seemed like I was struggling with something. (Oh, I’m sure my mom could tell you how badly I struggled with spelling in elementary!) For the most part, school just didn’t interest me. I was struggling with so many other things that school work was put on the back-burner so I could focus on just keeping my sanity at times. More >

Still Wanna Quote Leviticus To Say Being Gay Is Wrong?

Sometimes, you stumble upon something that’s truly, truly amazing…

Many Christians/Jews love to quote Leviticus to justify that homosexuality is wrong. Well, I go the following from a friend, and I thought I’d re-post it here… More >

I Fully Admit The Homosexual Agenda!

Original Article HERE On Tampa Bay News 10 (Warning! Sarcasm Is Afoot!)

Curses! Foiled again! Hillsborough County Commissioner Brian Blair has somehow found the leaked agenda! He has now sent out letters to thousands of parents of high school students, warning them of our “Day of Silence.” I think it’s time I came clean to thousands of super-duper-ultra-conservative-wacko Christians like Brian Blair, and finally admit just this particular agenda. (More may come later!) More >

Nashville Gay Bars Doomed?

So, I’ve heard that Illusions has closed. (I’m rather shocked it didn’t close over a year ago.) It’s a real shame because, at least in the summer, it was a really great place to go. It was a great, quiet location and cheap booze flowed freely. I met a lot of great people there. Out of every bar/club in Nashville, Illusions was the place for me to go. (When I still went out.) I’m sad that it didn’t make it, but I’m not surprised either.

That seems to be happening to a lot of our local GLBT places to hang out, doesn’t it? The Chute, The Cab, The Jungle, Lucky’s Garage, Illusions, and I think that coffee shop on Church Street have all closed, or are close to be closed. What’s going on?! Is Nashville’s gay community so bad that it won’t even support it’s own businesses? Puh-leese! Let’s not get that dramatic… More >
