No iPad For Me (For Now)

It’s been a hot minute since the iPad was announced. I’ve given the device some thought, and I’ve come to a choice: I don’t want one. At least, I don’t want one yet. Truth be told, yes, it’s a neat little device. Yes, I could use it to read books, listen to music, watch movies and the like. What 3-D?

I found this article on CNN interesting, as it goes into saying how perhaps 4-10% of the population have problems seeing all these 3-D movies that are coming out. (And, I thought I was the only one…)

The last 3-D movie I went to see was Avatar. (Of course.) We went to the 3-D showing. I donned my glasses, and we watched the entire movie. To be totally honest, I found the experience slightly annoying. If I had a choice, I would have just seen the regular version. But after reading the article, and thinking back, just about all of my 3-D experiences have been lackluster.

The article went on to say that there may be ways for people to ‘train’ their eyes. Maybe. But you know what? I’m rather happy with just watching high-def movies/TV. I really don’t get why 3-D is making such a big comeback?
