Facts About Dreams?

So, I stumbled-across this article, which supposedly contains 15 facts about dreams. I’ve always found dreams interesting. (Especially since mine all seem to be really weird at times.) I figured I’d take some time to shed some thoughts on what I thought about these… More >

Back To The Drawing Board, I Guess…

So, I had a few (rough) chapters done, for the book I’m working on. I get to some of the core plots, and I get stuck. Things just weren’t panning-out. I’d ask myself, “does this make sense?” I couldn’t answer on a few key issues. So now, I’m having to go back and rethink the way I want to do things.

Yeah, it’s kind of frustrating at times, but I’m not going to give up. I’m too in love with some of the character I’ve been working on. ;)

‘Productive’ Weekend (And Some Various Thoughts)

It’s been a long time since Allen and I had a productive weekend. Yesterday we both went out for a bit of shopping, walking around for a bit. (While I hunted for some books to read at work.) After walking around some stores, we came home and did some yard work. Of course afterwards, I ended up taking a nap around 7pm… that lasted until 5AM LOL! (Hey, I’ve been tired lately.) More >

Oh Boy…

In my peaceful oblivion yesterday, I somehow missed the big news. The California High Court decided that Prop 8 stands, though the marriages that remained before Prop 8 will still be valid. *facepalms* Well, let’s get the rant-post over with! More >

Interesting Weekend

It’s amazing sometimes, what you can find with a little ‘me’ time available. It’s been one of those super-rare three day weekends. On top of that, Allen has been in Florida visiting his parents. So, I’ve had the whole weekend to myself. It’s been an interesting weekend, if only because it’s given me a bit of time to think about a few things. Tomorrow starts the grind at work once again, but I have a deep feeling that my perspective on life may have changed quite a bit. More >

Saturday Ramblings

First things first… I saw the new Star Trek movie today. I’m not sure how to respond to it. It was a good movie, if you’ve never watched any Star Trek yourself. But it’s a ‘reboot’ of sorts. (Re-invisioned, re-imagined, etc….) The thing is though, they did this reboot by linking it to the normal time line. (I know, it gets confusing.) Besides over-use of lens flare and the whole time-traveling issues, it was an OK movie. Still, I’m not liking this whole ‘going into the past’ crap that writers are wanting to take Star Trek. Jesus, let’s move-on already! More >

If You Could Pretend Hard Enough…

Would that make you ’straight’ in “God’s” eyes? That’s a question I asked myself yesterday for an April Fool’s joke for my guild. I claimed I had turned straight. LOL. Obviously, most people caught-on to the fact it was all a joke because if there’s anyone where it would be almost impossible to turn straight, it would be me. Never the less, I asked the question all the same: For those people that seek ‘therapy’ and ‘corrective’ measures to somehow turn them straight… how does God actually see that? More >

Sad Circuit City Is Sad

I just got done reading THIS(l o n g) post on Gizmodo, about what the Circuit City employees are going through now that the store is being liquidated. I’m not really sure what to feel here. Yeah, it’s sad that so many people are losing their jobs. On the other hand, I haven’t had too many positive experiences at Circuit City, either. (Save for my last few purchases there.) More >

How People Deal With Failure

It’s sometimes interesting to see how some people deal with failure. Sometimes a person will recognize what they did wrong, dust themselves off and move on. Others clearly prefer the path of denial. They would much rather stay wrapped in their warm blanket of denial, instead of recognizing they were wrong. Instead of trying to make things right, they pretend they were right all along and make up excuses as to why you’re still wrong. There is no rationalizing with these people. Until there is sufficient evidence to them, they’ll remain right and everyone else will remain wrong. They are cowards because they are afraid of their own failures.

There Are MUCH Better Ways

You’re the manager of a local branch of business. You’ve got maybe 150 people under you, with maybe 15 supervisors and 5 senior supervisors. You think some of your supervisors are under-performing. Any normal person would either correct or fire the individual, right? But you… Well, you decide to fire all, at once. That’ll solve your problems, right? I mean, they can all re-apply and everyone will be one big happy family… right? More >
