Utah’s ‘Final Solution?’
Mar 8th

Sometimes you come across a story that is, by all accounts, so un-freaking-believable, you really have wonder if it’s real or not. THIS is one of those stories. A group called ‘Patriots For A Moral Utah’ want to introduce legislation that would, essentially, make it illegal for me to live in the state. Any existing homosexuals would be deported, and anyone harboring a homosexual would face criminal charges. W…T…F…?! More >
Misleading, Much?
Feb 22nd
A judge awarded custody of a one-year-old boy to his own foster parents. The judge had determined the boy was ‘happy and thriving,’ so why not? Had they been any typical parents, it probably wouldn’t have been any deal at all. But the parents are lesbians, so you know bat-shit-crazy obsessed right-wing people had a fit over it. How they did it though, was shady and under-handed. (And, also kind of funny to those of us on the intertubes.) More >
The Chapter Of Anne Frank’s Pussy
Feb 8th
(Yes, I know the picture is awful. But, I bet it at least made you smile, and this will probably the only time I can use it.)
It’s funny. Some of the strongest memories I have of high school, were some of the most ridiculous ideas school leaders and parents had about how things should be done. Uniforms, solving school shootings? Sure, they thought that was a great idea! It never ceased to amaze me how people freak out over the simplest of things. More >
Couple Lose Son To ‘Faith Healing’
Feb 5th

It’s not a theory, it’s a fact that sometimes your body can’t fix itself of all problems. If you have a broken leg, you go to the doctor and get a cast. No amount of alternative medicine or faith healing can miraculously cure someone of an cancer alone. If they could, I’m sure we’d see much more widespread use of such practices. However, it’s my opinion that people have a right to seek out whatever treatment they deem fit. (Whether or not it actually helps.) That being said, I have a big, BIG issue when parents feel 100% confident that they can cure their children’s’ ailments. More >
The Never-Ending Ringtone Charge
Oct 20th
I’m sure people buy ring tones all the time for their phones. (Because, and admit it, the ring tones that usually come with the phones suck.) Imagine for a moment you just spent $1 – $2 on a ring tone. A month goes by and you get your (already over-priced) cell phone bill with the ring tone download charge on it. You then see an additional $20 charge for ‘performances’ of that ring tone. Yes, basically you’re being charged a ‘performance’ fee every time someone calls you and that ring tone plays. Unreal? It could be a possibility one day. More >
Proof Of Natural Selection

It’s hard to imagine a world without vaccines. Look back at some of medical’s histories, and you’ll find some very nasty diseases that utterly devastated the world. (Smallpox always comes to my mind.) I’m a firm believer that vaccines have saved the world form any number of deadly diseases. Yet, there are people out there who don’t believe in them, and that’s the subject of today’s post. More >
Prove It!

Ask an ultra-conservative why gay marriage is bad, and they’ll spout-out all kinds of different answers:
- It will destroy the American family.
- It will destroy the sanctity of marriage.
- It will hurt conventional marriages.
- It’s against God’s will.
Those kind of arguments have been used ever since the fight began. Though now it seems that a judge has finally come out and said, “OK, that sounds bad, but can you explain why and provide proof?” It’s the best damn thing I’ve heard from a judge in a long time! More >
45 Days, Really?
Oct 13th
I was in high school when Columbine happened, and also there for the aftermath it created. Schools across the country pretty much freaked-out and came up with all sorts of new school rules. One of those, included a zero-tolerance policy for ‘weapons.’ In theory, it kind of makes sense. You picture in your mind some kid bringing a switchblade or gun to school, and it conjures up images of the horror those items could bring. More >
