Utah’s ‘Final Solution?’
Mar 8th

Sometimes you come across a story that is, by all accounts, so un-freaking-believable, you really have wonder if it’s real or not. THIS is one of those stories. A group called ‘Patriots For A Moral Utah’ want to introduce legislation that would, essentially, make it illegal for me to live in the state. Any existing homosexuals would be deported, and anyone harboring a homosexual would face criminal charges. W…T…F…?! More >
Misleading, Much?
Feb 22nd
A judge awarded custody of a one-year-old boy to his own foster parents. The judge had determined the boy was ‘happy and thriving,’ so why not? Had they been any typical parents, it probably wouldn’t have been any deal at all. But the parents are lesbians, so you know bat-shit-crazy obsessed right-wing people had a fit over it. How they did it though, was shady and under-handed. (And, also kind of funny to those of us on the intertubes.) More >
Please, Drag RuPaul Away
Feb 3rd
My partner and I watched the season premier of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The last season was bearable. This season? Ugh, please, someone kill it with fire! What are my beefs with it? Read on! More >

Genocide: is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group. (Really, that should say any group, in my opinion…)
I’m very familiar with the word. My paternal grandfather was in a concentration camp as a very young man. The Nazi Germans were all about making a ’superior’ race, and were just fine with exterminating anyone that didn’t fit their definition of such. (Including, homosexuals.) Genocide didn’t go away after the Nazis; it’s still happening in our day and age. But I saw some news today that totally chilled me to the core, and I’m not sure if the media attention to it is a good, or bad thing. More >
Let’s Define ‘Choice’
Oct 16th
A popular argument I hear is that “Gays choose to be gay. They aren’t born with it.” There’s a big problem with the word ‘choose,’ though. The word implies preferring one thing over another. And, I would have to say, in-fact, that most gay/lesbian people ‘choose’ to be gay, over ‘choosing’ to live a lifestyle that’s not them. Confused? Read on! More >
Here Comes The Whining From Christians…
Apr 10th
I gotta admit, the whining (MSBC link) from a few Christians about their ‘rights’ being taken-away amused me this morning. I LOVED this quote:
“It really is all about religious liberty for us,” said Scott Hoffman, chief administrative officer of a New Jersey Methodist group, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, which lost a property tax exemption after it declined to allow its beachside pavilion to be used for a same-sex union ceremony. “The protection to not be forced to do something that is against deeply held religious principles.” More >
Ted Haggard In Trouble, Again
Jan 27th
Well, well, well… Not that I’m surprised in the least, but it looks like Ted Haggard had more than just one fling. And, again, not surprisingly, his church is trying to keep the matter quiet. (I don’t care what they call it… the end result is that the church paid money in exchange of the other guy not talking about it.) Like I said though, it doesn’t surprise me in the least. Haggard can claim he’s ‘cured’ all he wants to, but I wanted to share something today that will maybe show why his claims are bogus. More >
I’ll Pass On Calling-In Gay
Dec 10th
(Inspired-From CBS News)
I understand the concept: to show America just how much it relies on a workforce full of GLBT peoples. Unfortunately, in this time, I don’t really think it will do much good. For my employer especially, they really do count on me being here. Taking a ‘gay’ day off would be devastating because our workforce is already stretch far too thin as it is.
Inevitably, the topic will come up with the few coworkers where I’m transparent about who I am. How will I answer them? Well, of course I’ll state the above. Though, truth be told, I think there are much better ways to prove a point than to be detrimental to your job. Keep talking about what’s important to you, and keep telling people about how you feel, in my book, is much more important. I strongly feel my coworkers understand and accept that I should have certain rights. One person at a time is how I think we should work, not some gimmick that gets media attention.
