Avatar is What Now?

That’s right… the ‘most Satanic movie of all time,’ at least according to Mark Driscoll. (Hit the link to read the story, and see the video at the bottom of the page. The video itself is a bit of an head-scratcher at some points.) More >

Utah’s ‘Final Solution?’

Sometimes you come across a story that is, by all accounts, so un-freaking-believable, you really have wonder if it’s real or not. THIS is one of those stories. A group called ‘Patriots For A Moral Utah’ want to introduce legislation that would, essentially, make it illegal for me to live in the state. Any existing homosexuals would be deported, and anyone harboring a homosexual would face criminal charges. W…T…F…?! More >

Job Problems

I have an interview this Thursday with Chase. Basically, it’s a banking customer service position, that will include light sales. At this point, I’ll take it. Sure, it’s not my ideal job. I don’t like ‘required’ sales goals. (Though, it’ll be interesting to see just how much I’ll have to push on the real job.) A job is a job, but I’ve been thinking about what I’d really like to do. The problem is, I’m not sure if I have an answer to that quandary. More >

Hello Again, Linux Mint

So, my trial of Windows 7 Ultimate ran out for my laptop. Yeah, it ran so much better than Vista, but honestly, I just don’t see the need to have Windows on my ’secondary’ computer anymore. (Plus, I just don’t have the cash to pay for the full version.) Before I tested Windows 7, I was using Linux Mint. (A flavor of Ubuntu.) So, I decided to download the latest version and give it a go again to see if things got any better. I have to say, I’m actually pretty damned impressed. More >

Misleading, Much?

A judge awarded custody of a one-year-old boy to his own foster parents. The judge had determined the boy was ‘happy and thriving,’ so why not? Had they been any typical parents, it probably wouldn’t have been any deal at all. But the parents are lesbians, so you know bat-shit-crazy obsessed right-wing people had a fit over it. How they did it though, was shady and under-handed. (And, also kind of funny to those of us on the intertubes.) More >

Toxic Garbage Island

I was introduced to VBS.TV a few days ago via CNN, who recommended the Vice Guide to North Korea. (Which was an awesome short series by itself.) I spent some time looking through the various series when I stumbled across Toxic Garbage Island. You might have read about it before, that it was literally an island made up of garbage floating in the Pacific Ocean. The truth though, is that it’s not an island, but maybe an island’s worth of mass floating across a vast amount of water.

I’m Not Thrilled With Google’s Buzz, Yet

I have to admit, I use Facebook a lot. In all honesty, it’s the best way to keep up with my friends and family from all over. Yes, it has its own problems, but overall, I absolutely love it. (And so much more than CrapSpace!)

Google has introduced Buzz today, as their own way to improve social networking. The problem is, I don’t get what all the ‘buzz’ is about. More >

The Chapter Of Anne Frank’s Pussy

(Yes, I know the picture is awful. But, I bet it at least made you smile, and this will probably the only time I can use it.)

It’s funny. Some of the strongest memories I have of high school, were some of the most ridiculous ideas school leaders and parents had about how things should be done. Uniforms, solving school shootings? Sure, they thought that was a great idea! It never ceased to amaze me how people freak out over the simplest of things. More >

You Hate To Say Goodbye Sometimes

Well hello there,
I’ve been a die-hard fan of Firefox for my browsing needs since it first came out. Sure, other browsers had been able to catch my eye every now and then, but none that could get me to switch permanently. That is, until now. Google has been (quickly) working on their own browser, Chrome. When it first arrived, it was a cute toy. Very quickly though, Google ramped it up. It was still missing some key features I loved in Firefox. (Namely, add-ons.) Now though, Google supports extensions, and I’m afraid it may be time to say goodbye to Firefox. (At least for now.) Couple Lose Son To ‘Faith Healing’

It’s not a theory, it’s a fact that sometimes your body can’t fix itself of all problems. If you have a broken leg, you go to the doctor and get a cast. No amount of alternative medicine or faith healing can miraculously cure someone of an cancer alone. If they could, I’m sure we’d see much more widespread use of such practices. However, it’s my opinion that people have a right to seek out whatever treatment they deem fit. (Whether or not it actually helps.) That being said, I have a big, BIG issue when parents feel 100% confident that they can cure their children’s’ ailments. More >
