So, I stumbled-across this article, which supposedly contains 15 facts about dreams. I’ve always found dreams interesting. (Especially since mine all seem to be really weird at times.) I figured I’d take some time to shed some thoughts on what I thought about these…

1. You Forget About 90% Of Your Dreams
I can agree with that. Even recurring dreams, I sometimes have a hard time remembering the details.

2. Blind People Dream
I didn’t find this one too surprising. Just because you can’t see, doesn’t mean you can’t experience subconscious mutterings in your own way.

3. Everybody Dreams
Again, it’s not surprising. I’d actually be more curious to know if there are any mammals at all that don’t dream?

4. In Our Dreams, We Only See Face We’ve Already Seen
I’m not sure about this one. Granted, I rarely remember the faces, mostly the general ‘feel’ of someone in my dream. I can remember a recent dream though, where the ‘face’ was that of a doll that I’ve never seen before.

5. Not Everyone Dreams In Color
This one, makes sense. (Though, I’ve yet to have a ‘Wizard of Oz’ dream myself.)

6. Dreams Are Symbolic
And I get so frustrated at this! Why the hell did I dream about driving a corvette down a mountain of ice cream made of silver? WTF is that supposed to mean?!

7. Common Emotions
If there’s anything I remember about dreams, it’s the emotions tied to them. Anxiety may be a big portion of them, but I honestly never thought about the percentages myself.

8. You Can Have 4 To 7 Dreams A Night
Interesting. I typically find that I have dreams that I can at least (vaguely) remember, or I can’t remember having any at all.

9. Animals Dream, Too
It’s funny watching a dog dream :)

10. Body Paralysis
Creepy, but it makes sense. Though, I wonder what happens when you have one of those ‘dying’ dreams and you wake up kicking/stomping something/someone?

11. Dream Incorporation
Frequently, I dream about music when the alarm goes off. ;)

12. Men & Women Dream Differently
So, men dream of more men, more than women. I wonder how much gay men dream of men? ;)

13. Precognitive Dreams
There have been times, where I have recurring dreams. I can never really remember what they are about. (It’s like trying to remember some random part of your day that you had three months ago.) Later on though, I’ll be in a similar situation, and think-back to the dream. Weird how that works, isn’t it?

14. If You’re Snoring, Then You Can’t be Dreaming (Unconfirmed)
Snoring, to the best of my knowledge, is just the way you breathe, which requires no conscious effort.

15. You Can Orgasm When You Dream
Just about any guy can verify this. Now, if we could only do that any time we’d want! :)
