Allen and I went out yesterday to the mall-esque area Providence. Went and say The Day The Earth Stood Still (more on that in a bit), and went for a little shopping afterwards. People just get plain nasty around this time of year! The crowds, the whining… it just makes me sick. I have to wonder if everyone is so sick and tired of the ‘consumerism’ of the season, why don’t you just say ‘no?’ I don’t think Jesus or God would mind one bit of you just took a break from the whole thing and see what you think? Just a thought…

The Day The Earth Stood Still Thoughts
Now, I’ve never seen the original. (Though I had read the plot summary online.) So, I had a rough idea as to what to expect for the new one, right? Well, kinda. All in all, the movie was pretty good. The special effects were of course pretty amazing and very forward-thinking. The biggest thing lacking was plot and story lines. By the end of the movie, you’re asking yourself, “So, he doesn’t address the UN or anything? Doesn’t tell people how they need to change?” Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t think it was bad, but I don’t think it was worth $7, either.
